Audio Production & Podcasting

I view audio production as a fantastic companion to written communication for brand awareness and to help educate and engage with audiences.

Strategic Scholar

My first podcast project was an interview-based series focused on the economics of higher education. This project established me as a subject matter expert, leading to speaking engagements with Pearson and partnerships with local school districts.

Flipping the Classroom Project

Developed a targeted podcast series for my university students as a supplemental learning tool. Despite being designed for a niche classroom audience, the series achieved organic reach with over 10,000 downloads to date.

Corporate Production

At both Pragmatic Institute and MHAOK, I served as a core producer and strategist. I managed the end-to-end workflow, including guest acquisition, technical editing, and the creation of SEO-optimized titles and abstracts to maximize listener retention and discoverability.

When I joined the organization, the corporate podcast was a high-priority initiative for the CEO that was struggling with significant operational bottlenecks. The production cycle relied on an external radio studio, resulting in a turnaround time of several weeks and a cost structure that was neither scalable nor sustainable.

Operational Overhaul & Studio Engineering

I spearheaded the transition to an in-house production model by converting underutilized office space into a dedicated recording studio.

  • Infrastructure on a Budget: I designed and soundproofed the new studio using donated materials, creating a semi-professional-grade recording environment with zero capital expenditure.

  • Technical Strategy: To drastically reduce post-production time, I advocated for a multi-room setup that allowed for isolated audio tracks. This technical shift maintained high audio quality while simplifying the editing process.

Team Enablement & Content Velocity

Rather than remaining the sole point of failure for production, I focused on knowledge transfer:

  • Staff Training: I introduced the marketing team to professional audio editing software and trained them on how to manage the production cycle.

  • Increased Cadence: By removing external dependencies and streamlining the workflow, I successfully increased the publication frequency to weekly and helped the show grow to 50,000 downloads.
